Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Punjabi of Arya College, Ludhiana organized a Poem Writing Competition dedicated to the celebration of Mother Language Day. A number of students participated in this competition with their original compositions. Relating the importance of mother tongue in the formation of value system of an individual, Smt. Satisha Sharma, Secretary ACMC shed light on the richness of Punjabi culture and language. Principal, Dr. Suksham Ahluwalia said that Punjabi is the language of Gurus and Saints and she also inspired the students to stay connected with their mother tongue as it helps in better understanding of one’s surroundings. Dr. Ahluwalia also introduced the students to the origin and development of Punjabi language. In the Poem Writing Competition, Pushpinder Kaur was adjudged First and Dilraj Singh got Second prize. On this occasion, Prof. Kumud Chawla, Dean Arts Faculty, and other members of Organising Committee were also present.
