Zoology

The Department of Zoology was established in 1951-52 and has completed 66 years of teaching. Its vision is to inculcate the highest values of life-sciences, animal science learning, respect for nature and concern for ethical values among students through good and scientific educational practices. Its mission is to develop an appreciation of nature amongst the students. It also tends to equip students with responsibilities towards society and achieve relevance of their studies for the betterment of mankind and to impart knowledge and skills in zoological science. At present the department is offering undergraduate programme of B.Sc. Medical. The department aims at providing research oriented quality education to the students and preparing them for higher studies. The department has well qualified and competent teaching and non-teaching staff which aims to provide the best of their knowledge to the students. The Department blends classroom teaching with co-curricular activities like lectures from eminent scientists, seminars, inter-college competitions and educational visits which gives the students a chance to showcase their talents and develop their personality.
