The Postgraduate Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Arya College, organized a one-day workshop on “Mastering the Craft of Academic Assignments” on September 16, 2025 The event aimed to enhance students’ academic writing and research skills by providing them with practical insights into structuring, drafting, and presenting assignments effectively.The workshop commenced with an inaugural session, graced by Principal Dr. Suksham Ahluwalia, who delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of academic integrity, proper referencing, and clear expression in higher education. Secretary, ACMC Dr. S. M. Sharma also extended his best wishes for the success of the event and emphasized the role of such initiatives in strengthening the academic environment of the institution.
Faculty members of the Department of Political Science welcomed the participants and introduced the theme of the workshop.The technical sessions covered various aspects of assignment writing, Structuring, Crafting introductions, thesis statements, arguments, and conclusions. They were also told about Research & Referencing Skills, Using reliable sources, avoiding plagiarism, and following proper citation styles such as APA and MLA. As part of the workshop, students were also provided hands-on practice in the computer lab, where they were given dedicated time to frame a small assignment, enabling them to apply the concepts learned in real-time.
