PG Department of Commerce & Business Management was established in 1977. This is undoubtedly the most prestigious department as compared to its counter parts in the city as well as in Panjab University, Chandigarh. In the past many years it has acquired the status of being the most deemed destination for the Commerce and Business Management aspirants. The Department has been successfully running early morning batch of B.Com. for C.A aspirants for the last 15 years. The students are allowed to attend regular classes which start at 7:00 AM and end at 10:20 AM enabling them to pursue internship with a professional Charted Accountant. We have received such an over whelming response from students of the region that we can proudly claim it as one of our Best Practices. The Department boasts of a fully equipped Smart Classroom along with several air-conditioned classrooms, a separate staff room and high tech audio visual aids which are the pre-requisites for modern teaching. The department consists of 23 faculty members. We have been the holders of glorious University positions every year and are pioneers in youth activities for the past many years. Our department strives for excellence through rigorous, holistic, innovative and inclusive academics. The Department offers various programmes such as M. Com.,PGDMM, B.Com.(Pass Course), B.Com.(Hons.) and B.B.A. We are empowering the students with intellectual and emotional strength to meet upcoming global challenges.
