The history of English Department is inextricably linked with that of the college. Since its inception in 1946 as an independent and prominent department, it has been providing three year undergraduate programmes in English language and literature. Innovation has always been the hallmark of the department and with a team of dedicated faculty members, the department continues to explore new avenues in its pursuit of excellence. We focus on providing intensive mentoring to our students both in and beyond the classroom in a wide variety of forums like the college magazine, remedial classes, screening of plays, poem recitation and paper reading contests ensuring the all round development of students. The courses taught by the Department comprise English Literature, Composition and Business Communication & Communication Skills. The department consists of four Associate Professors, One Assistant Professor and two lecturers in guest faculty.
