Arya College, Ludhiana celebrated the 13th National Voters Day (NVD), with the theme “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure” on 25th January 2023. As per directions from Election Commission of India, Arya College conducted the NVD pledge in the Seminar Hall on 25th January which was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Suksham Ahluwalia. In her inaugural address, Dr. Ahluwalia insisted the students to enroll themselves as new voters and use their voting power to strengthen democracy. Mr. Rohit Sharma from the department of Political Science spoke about the virtue of the establishment of this day and how it aims at the significance of individual voters’ right to choose their political representatives. The day was utilized to raise awareness among voters and for promoting informed participation in the electoral process through various activities including Poem Recitation, Poster Making, Slogan Writing and PowerPoint Presentation. Later, the ECI song- “Main Bharat Hoon- Hum Bharat Ke Matdata Hain” was also screened. The event was attended by students, faculty members, and administrative staff.
